Where? Pints and Paints is located in the beautiful Leather’s Building on Pulaski Street, a two minute drive from downtown.
What is it? A two or three hour painting session with pints (or wine). You don’t need to be artistic to attend. Pints and Paints equips every painting session with a professional artist who guides you through each step until you have your own masterpiece.
I have already been to two of these paint sessions in a four day period!
The studio has a lifesize wall calendar displaying each day's painting for the current monthHow does it work? Go to the Pints and Paints website calendar to view each painting session for the month. You can sign up for your class online and then simply show up on the day or evening of your session! You can be casual or dressy: all classes are mixed crowds with singles, couples, friends and perfect strangers.
I went to my first Pints and Paints session by myself and left with a beautiful painting of the Georgia Theatre plus at least three new friends.Georgia Theatre painting on March 26, 2011
My second painting session was a custom class that Abby Denham, owner of Pints and Paints organized for me and my friends. I told her that we were planning on going to the Avett Brothers concert in Athens the evening of Tuesday, March 29th. I thought it would be fun to have a pre-show party at Pints and Paints with the subject of our painting being a banjo (since the Avett Brothers are a bit bluegrassy). Within 48 hours, she had her artist Sam create our banjo painting and had scheduled our class just as requested. The lady makes things happen!Banjo success! Our private party on March 29, 2011
In addition to its public sessions six nights a week (closed on Mondays), Pints and Paints offers private parties. If you are celebrating an engagement, birthday, reunion or graduation, scheduling a Pints and Paints party is the perfect way to start the day/night or spend the evening with friends and family. Paint sessions last from two to three hours with prices from $20/person to $45/person. Contact Abby to schedule your private session or sign up for a public session online.
