Check it out! The 11th annual Sunflower Concert Series at The State Botanical Gardens of Georgia, located at 2450 South Milledge Avenue, Athens, GA. This concert series features four shows total, with one show a month over the Summer Months: June, July, August, September.
The shows are the best deal in town at $15 each, $10 for Friends of the Garden members and $5 for children ages 6-12. Ticket purchases are all access to the keg beer, wine (21 to drink), non-alcoholic refreshments and light snacks. In addition, guests are welcomed to bring their blankets, picnics and coolers!

Schedule:
June 21, 2011: Modern Skirts, a local alternative rock band known for soft piano ballads and pop-rock guitars. Opening the show is White Violet, formerly Nate Nelson.
July 26, 2011: Packway Handle Band, with Caroline Aiken opening.
August 23, 2011: Grogus, will perform two sets. Grogus plays Latin jazz, traditional Cuban and Caribbean styles, and funk versions of jazz standards.
September 27, 2011: Arvin Scott Quartet, featuring world-renowned percussionist Arvin Scott.
The first concert of summer 2011 was Tuesday night, June 22nd. With White Violet as the opening band and local favorite Modern Skirts as the headliner, the show was a hit!
The setting of the concerts couldn’t be more perfect. The stage is at the lower level of the three-tiered flower garden. There is plenty of lawn for laying down a blanket, relaxing and dancing if you get the urge. Not to forget that the flower garden is at its peak during the summer months, full of beautiful wildflowers, butterflies and fruit trees, so come ready for a beautiful night.
